Tony MacRory-Smith

Tony has been involved in Personal and Social Development (PSD) for the last 26 years, attending a residential with the charity Weston Spirit aged 17.  Through a years’ long membership his self-esteem began to grow and grow, from then on he knew that PSD would dominate his professional career.

Tony progressed through Weston Spirit and ended up as their National Youth Work Advisor, training and developing the staff of the youth work delivery across the UK. He left the voluntary sector and joined the public sector in 2009 and managed a Positive Futures programme in Leicestershire, in his 4 years at North West Leicestershire District Council, Tony progressed to become the Integrated Youth Support Services Manager (IYSS) responsible for integrating all agencies working with the young people Leicestershire.

In September 2012, Tony was head hunted and moved to the private sector as the training manager for Personal Development Point (PDP) and a year later was made the Training Director. It’s an exciting time to be involved with PDP, with people’s understanding of PSD on the increase, PDP is well placed to grow and influence decision makers in this field.

Tony is married and lives in Leicestershire with his wife Claire. Tony loves to play golf, snooker and visit the Munroe’s in Scotland at least once a year.
